A 32nd round draft pick of the Miami Marlins in 2015, Kris Goodman has typically been a utility player but will be transitioning to a pitcher. He started his pro career in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League before moving on to the Batavia Muckdogs and the Greensboro Grasshoppers, ascending as high as single A. Combined, in affiliated ball, Kris played 72 games, hitting .223 with a home run and eight RBI. During the 2016 season, he signed on with the Gary SouthShore Railcats of the American Association, and played there until the end of last season. The versatile infielder/outfielder hit .245 with 5 home runs, 12 doubles, four triples, and 36 runs batted in. Prior to all of this, Goodman graduated from the University of Iowa where he was a 4-year varsity player. Here he hit .262 in 194 games with eight homers, 23 doubles, and 83 RBI.
